The people of Bacarra symbolize the traits of hospitality, hard work, patriotism, frugality and love of country. The theme of the nine-day Bac-Bacarra Festival 2008 (from November 23 to December 1, 2008) which is “Serving our Country Best by Serving our Communities First” celebrates these hallmarks of the Bacarreño character.
The annual town fiesta is a highly anticipated event as it signals the arrival of that special time when the hardy, industrious , indefatigable and peace-loving Bacarreños lay down their burdens from their work to enjoy and share their blessings with their loved ones and friends while commemorating the feast of the town’s patron, Saint Andrew the Apostle.
This year’s Bac-Bacarra Festival is made even more significant when the local leadership led by Mayor Nicomedes C. dela Cruz Jr. has adopted the theme “Serving our Country Best by Serving our Communities First” which is an expression of his awareness that providing proper public service and promoting the development of the communities will be its greatest contribution to the advancement and progress of our beloved Philippines.
Any town fiesta for that matter is indeed a celebration of praise and thanksgiving, of fun and frolic. Come, kick up your heels and let down your hair as we rejoice, have fun and have a good time.
I am glad that the Town Officials of Bacarra pushed through with creating a website! It is a way of reaching out to your constituents and it promotes transparency and accountability.
Congratulations! May your tribe increase.

I had a chance to look at your website and I would like to suggest if you could put more photos around Bacarra Ilocos Norte especially Natba Beach. There is one picture of the beach and it looks like it still a virgin since I did not see any cottages or structures that support the beach goers. If I remember 30 years back when I was a young boy, there was cottages. Please say hello to Hon. Mayor. He does not know me but I know his wife. His wife is my brother in-law's sister.
Thank you for keeping us in the loop of the happening around my birthplace.
